You can always check out the changes made to AERC ratings for cards on the cards page.
All new cards in the sets newly added to Master Vault have been rated and reviewed. Much appreciation to the Keepers of the SAS group that helped me create and refine the ratings for these sets, in no particular order: jfilipeg, r0gershrubber, june, Player Hurp and siaka.
We've performed some backend optimizations to the SAS algorithm, as well as modified some traits to use these optimizations. Traits like creature count, and captured aember synergies, for example, have been comprehensively revised to hopefully make them more accurately rate decks and be easier to work with when creating ratings for cards.
We have a couple decks from each sets in the Master Vault, so I'm gradually going to be allowing these decks onto Decks of KeyForge. Card images will be added when more decks and cards become available.
I've added the Martian Civil War pods as decks to Decks of KeyForge. These are a bit odd, as they're only one house. But I figure it's probably nicer to have them available on DoK in some capacity rather than not at all. You may build Alliances out of Martian Civil War pods, with two other houses of the same expansion as each other. Select the Martian Civil War pod first.
For no reason in particular I decided to add a new purple and cyan color scheme to DoK! It's particularly cool with Dark Mode. You can check it out on your Profile.
V1 Grim Reminders SAS scores have officially been released. These are a work in progress, but hopefully they will be useful to the community, and improve with time. In addition to the new SAS scores I've also added a 'haunting' statistic that shows how good a deck is at getting itself haunted quickly. A deck with a score of 0 is bad at it, and one with a score of 10 is pretty good, relatively speaking.
I got a lot of help building these scores for this set. The following folks helped create the SAS scores for Grim Reminders: jfilipeg, june, quickdraw3457, r0gershrubber, Player Hurp, and Big Z. The community in the Decks of KeyForge Discord server also helped provide feedback.
I've been putting in work upgrading the SAS algorithm, but a lot of those improvements haven't been made for older cards. Our next goal is going to be to improve Grim Reminders scores, but also revise many old cards to use the more modern synergy system.
As you may have noticed, we've got the new decks importing to DoK! SAS scores are being actively worked on by the team that helps me rate SAS, and if you have preview SAS turned on as a patron expect it to be all over the place in the coming days. Soon we'll do an initial release for Grim Reminders SAS.
I've decided to remove the META Score from SAS, so this will change SAS scores. The KeyForge meta is constantly evolving, and I think it's better in the long term for SAS to concentrate on scoring the raw quality of a deck in a vacuum, not in the context of the current meta.
I've also been trying to make various little improvements to the site while I'm at it. For example, all Alliance decks now have bonus pips added to them. And the deck import popover has been replaced with a new, hopefully superior page.
The site has had an unusual amount of downtime lately. As more and more decks get added to KeyForge, updating the list of decks and providing a fast, stable search feature only gets more challenging. To improve site stability and speed I've had to remove some deck search options, as every search ability imposes a cost on database performance. As such I've removed the following search options:
Antisynergy & Synergy
Chains & Power Level
Funny & Wishlist
I've also removed a few features that were seeing little to no use by users. You can still list decks for sale with offers or a buy it now price, but the site no longer allows listing decks as auctions. I've also removed the community event calendar.
I'm working to improve the basic way the site handles decks and cards to optimize the service and add Grim Reminders and Menagerie. This will also make sure the site can perform SAS updates quickly without degraded service. This is a lot of work, but I'll get it done as soon as I can.
I'm making progress towards getting Grim Reminders and Menagerie decks importing to DoK, but they aren't ready to import to DoK quite yet.
I'm working towards improving some of the nuts and bolts of how DoK works with decks and cards to improve the site and make it easier for other developers to help with the site.
You can now select a token when building alliance decks!
It should now be possible to import new Vault Masters decks as well as new decks with Mavericks.
The first version of SAS for WoE is officially being released today! I've gotten help from a small group of folks on the DoK Discord server. In no particular order: JFilipeg, Big Z, Siaka, r0gershrubber, ashepelev, Player Hurp and quickdraw3457 all helped create and refine this release!
I'm planning on doing a few more improvements to SAS in general and WoE SAS in particular before updates go relatively quiet until the next set. I'm planning on improving the scores for cards that get better with big capture values. Improving estimated token generation. And it's a bit ambitious, but if I can find time, creating a score to evaluate a deck's ability to generate a large board of reapers in one or more houses (particularly valuable when you can spam tokens).
$6+ per month patrons can now preview the WIP SAS scores for WoE and more by toggling it on in their user profile! These scores are going to fluctuate a lot and shouldn't be considered fully baked SAS scores as yet.
Not sure how many years it has been since I've done this, but I've revised the main deck view! Hope folks like the revision. I think it displays information better and with less repetition
You can now search decks by the tokens in the decks! Open the Cards pane in the deck search panel to search by tokens.
$6+ per month patrons can now preview SAS scores in progress! Please note that these will be highly inaccurate, and even include cards that are completely unscored.
When a user views deck images they will now only see the most recently uploaded image and any images they uploaded themself. If a deck you own has an image in the owned images you would like to not see on there, please upload a new image to hide it. Note: if you were to delete your image the previous image would reappear.
I've converted the alliance deck creator to make real deck versions of alliance decks, which you can search like standard decks! Whenever you make an alliance deck it will permanently be added to the alliance decks in DoK. Do not programmatically create new alliance decks! The quantity is intentionally limited to human effort to ensure not too many alliance decks are created in the system. There is a link on the bottom of the alliance decks search page to view all the past alliance decks you've made, but you can no longer create decks more decks there.
Patrons can now search for decks with an exact search, which will include capitalization and special characters.
Well, last update I said it had been a while, and now it's really really been a while! First off all patrons can now easily create Alliance decks! Just toggle on creation from the bottom of the deck search panel.
I will be continuing to maintain DoK and SAS. Expect SAS for Winds of Exchange to release about four weeks after the initial release. Keep forgin' y'all!
Hey all, it's been a while! I'm deploying a quick SAS update to a few cards. Nothing big, just changes that have percolated over the months. I really appreciate everyone's continued support on Patreon in these trying times for KeyForge. I couldn't keep DoK around without your support! When the next set is about to come out, whenever that is, I'll restart active development. Until then keep the forges lit folks!
I've taken some multi-set feedback from PetitBot and integrated it into the system. None of the changes are very big, but there are more than 100 tweaks to various cards to modify their scores!
These were already rolled out, but I've made it so when you send on-site messages with DoK DoK links will be clickable hyperlinks, and I've also made improvements to the tournament system, specifically to better support Survival and in person tournaments.
I've created an Android app that helps import decks from the Master Vault app to DoK. Also, a community member has made an iOS shortcut that performs a similar function. Find them on the third party tools page!
Third Party ToolsMany decks newly imported to the site are not properly displaying all enhanced or maverick cards. I've started a process that will clean up this problem over the next couple weeks.
Already did one minor SAS update mid-month due to the new set. I've got another one for today. Not much changed tho! I'll skip the regular end-of-month SAS update and return to that schedule for July 1st.
I've made adding deck notes and searching them a patron feature. This is the type of power user function that I believe should have been a Patron feature in the first place.
You can now see SAS scores for all Dark Tidings decks! Over the next couple days the site will be updating itself so that they will properly sort by SAS when searching decks.
Rating this set was and continues to be a challenge. More so than any other set it seems to have multi-card combos, which are much harder for the SAS system to rate properly. It's hard to properly capture the synergy between United Action, triple Final Analysis, a bunch of creatures, and a Data Forge for example. I do think these ratings are considerably more refined than the first version of MM ratings though, so I hope people find them reasonably accurate.
I have a couple future changes planned that I think will further help improve deck scores, and DT scores in particular. One of them is rebalancing how SAS rates creatures and their power. Currently all creatures get a hidden 0.4 SAS bonus, as well as about 0.1 point per power / armor. I plan to make that more complex, and to rate lower power creatures a little less, and higher power / armor creatures a little more.
The other change I have planned is to further refine the META scores. In particular I expect to increase the negative meta score for low C decks, but I also plan to re-evaluate META scores in general for the new meta.
Thank you to the folks who helped rate and refine the scores for DT SAS!
I will be releasing SAS for Dark Tidings on 5/18. Head to the lading page to see the announcement and reasons.
This is a new feature for $6+ a month patrons. Under "Extra Options" on the search screen, you can now select "With Owners" to see everyone who has marked a deck as owned, and has their owned decks public. Combine this feature with the new on-site messaging and hopefully this will help some folks find their evil twins!
You can now change your username on your profile page.
I've added Dark Tidings to DoK as a registerable KeyForge set. SAS and AERC scores are being worked on, and I will release version one of those scores as soon as I feel they provide meaningful value.
I'm pretty excited about this one. I've added on-site messaging to other users! I recommend using this to contact users to buy decks instead of the system's email system. Emails can go to spam, but on site messages will always be there for the recipient to read when they visit the site.
I've now publicly released DoK's new tournament feature! This allows Tournament Organizers to use DoK to organize tournaments instead of tools like Challonge. It has a number of custom integrations with DoK that should make it better for KeyForge than any other option! Depending on how much use this sees, I'll possibly add more features, like special score reporting tools for survival, support for KeyForge league play, etc. Find it under the Community menu.
I've now added the Efficiency Bonus to SAS. In the calculation it is added to the Synergy score, and you can mouse over the synergy score to see a deck's efficiency bonus. I've also pushed the normal update to various cards I've received feedback on.
I got some feedback that no one really believed I was gonna delete SAS, so it's back now. GL and Forge on!
I've added a new score called 'Efficiency Bonus'. 67 SAS is the baseline SAS for the score, so decks with that SAS should have an efficiency bonus near 0. Decks with higher SAS and high efficiency will have a positive score, and decks with lower SAS and high efficiency will have a negative score. It represents the increased or decreased value of playing extra cards based on a deck's SAS. Read more about it on the about SAS page.
Your team leader can now add an icon and homepage link for your team. This will display your team's icon next to your name on DoK, and your team name will link to your team's homepage.
I've decided to do an additional pass on board clear AERC scores to improve a couple poor scores from the previous update. Negative Effective Power on board clears as been made more consistent, and lower for some where it was unusually high. I've also reduced the excessively high score for Unlocked Gateway and made board clear scores a little more consistent with each other in general. I've also made the usual slight adjustments to various SAS scores.
When you make an offer to buy a deck through the offer system, the site will now show who has made each offer. This is meant to increase transparency and trust. Note that bidders on auctions will continue to remain hidden.
You can now create and view KeyForge events on DoK! I hope this helps users of the site find fun online KeyForge events to participate in. $3+ patrons can create events. $6+ patrons will have their events promoted to the landing page of DoK, and can add a small event banner image. If this feature is useful in the future I'll extend it to work with in-person events.
Along with the normal minor updates to card AERCs, I've significantly rebalanced the distribution of C within AERC. The total AERC value of most creature control cards should not have changed in most cases, but now double sided board wipes like Gateway to Dis have a much higher C rating, and more significant AERC negatives in other stats like F and P. This should allow you to look at a deck's C and more easily evaluate how well it can deal with an opposing board. I've also slightly increased the negative META score for having very low C. Thanks to the other members of Team SAS-LP for helping evaluate these changes!
You can now archive your deck tags so decks will only show that tag if they are already tagged with it.
I've made a deck comparison tool that lets Patrons compare decks side by side! It also displays a short summary that lets you know which deck is better in certain key AERC and card count categories.
I revised the card search to make it easier to select the expansion, and gave it expandable drawers like the deck search.
I missed converting a couple cards to U. This fix will migrate those cards to the appropriate value.
Efficiency has long included effects that let you draw and play additional cards, like Library Access or Labwork, as well as effects that let you replay cards that have already been played, like Nepenthe Seed or Resurgence. I've now separated cards that let you replay cards into a new AERC stat, so you can easily see the difference between a deck with multiple Stirring Graves and Resurgences, and one with many Daughter and Subject Kirby, for example.
With the rise of high value creatures with WC and MM, the value of destroying a creature is higher than it once was. I've benchmarked a destroy creature effect at 1.5 AERC, with some discount for conditional destroy effects.
I've incorporated the Meta Score into the overall SAS score. The Meta score is now in the SAS equation at the top, and you can still hover it to see its values. This may not be as extreme as other major SAS version changes, but I thought it warranted the big 6.0
You can now see at a glance the scaling aember control and board wipes in a deck at the bottom of the AERC info pane.
I'm now recording the history of SAS scores for decks. In the future you'll be able to click the SAS History button to see all the previous recorded SAS values for a deck.
You can now order your sales notification queries so the ones you care more about will be triggered first. If you're a $6+ patron head to your notifications page to check it out!
You can now change a tag's visibility and click them to mark them on decks more easily. I've also fixed a bug that caused tag views to not properly increment.
The system now tracks what theoretical decks you've made, so you can view ones you made in the past. Just go to the page you create one from, and click 'My Past Theories'. Note that all theoretical decks you've made prior to this point are lost to the mists of time (unless you have a bookmark). I've also made it so you can specify which cards are enhanced, as that can affect SAS scores.
This is a minor SAS update with a few modifications to cards.
I've also added synergies for certain cards with having an enhancement in general, although not the specific type or quantity, since those are unavailable through Master Vault. For example, Rad Penny will get a bonus if it is enhanced. And Grim Reminder will synergize with creatures being enhanced in general.
Patrons can now create tags on their decks to filter decks by custom tags. Paid Patrons can also create public collections of decks that anyone can look at to help the community track tournament winning decks, etc.
DoK now tracks your previously owned decks. For a deck to be included, it just needs to be marked as owned, then unmarked as owned.
Patrons can now see an analysis of collections of decks. From the bottom of the deck search drawer or the "My Decks" menu just click analyze. You can see house distributions, SAS score counts, and information about the cards in the collection of decks. Higher tier patrons can analyze larger quantities of decks.
I'm trying to stick to beginning of the month updates, but Interdimensional Graft and Binate Rupture got overrated enough that I wanted to do a mid-month correction.
I've improved the store icons so you can upload them yourself. Additionally, you can now add a banner across the top of the search page when anyone searches your decks for sale. Check these out in your profile under "My DoK"!
In addition to the regular SAS updates, I've added a new META Score. At this time it is entirely separate from SAS, but the plan is to incorporate it into the SAS total in next month's update. I tested many permutations of this score, and in the end I decided the most simple and obvious version was best. Decks get negative meta score for too little aember control and creature control, they get a bonus for a medium amount of artifact control, and a bonus for about 1 to 3 board wipes.
$6+ Patrons can now load the first 1,000 or 5,000 deck search results to download as a spreadsheet!
Synergy groups can now be marked as primary. This means no synergy not in the primary synergy group can have a synergy value higher than the primary group. For example, Praefectus Ludo now has a synergy with capture and creature protection, but his synergy value from creature protection cannot be higher than his synergy from capture.
You can now filter decks based on the amount of bonus capture or draw they contain. I also removed a couple lesser used constraints to make room for these. Note these values will be filling out as the SAS update runs.
Drawing one card was previously rated at 0.5 F. That seemed to underrate an ability that lets you play an extra card 1/3rd of the time, and improves future hand quality the rest of the time. 1 draw is now worth 0.75 F.
Still refining MM card scores based on feedback and the slowly slowly very slowly increasing OP game stats.
Notes now save automatically still. Now with fewer bugs!
I spent some time inspecting the house win rates on a per expansion basis, comparing them to the total AERC score for each house on a per expansion basis. It seemed like the two biggest outliers were CotA Dis, and WC Saurian, as being worth more AERC than you would expect based on the house's win rate. As such, I went through each house and lowered a few cards that seemed overrated. I also found some bad synergies in Saurian which I fixed.
Notes now save automatically. Less clicking more fun!
I've tweaked a number of cards that seemed poorly scored. I've also added the ability for cards to be of more than one type (for the Star Alliance Creature / Upgrade cards) and Non-Mutant synergies.
You can now see who sent you offers from your offers page.
Minor update to SAS. Mostly Mass Mutation, although there are a couple small tweaks to cards from other expansions.
I'm removing the link to import unregistered decks. You can still create theoretical decks. The unregistered deck option is being used at about half the rate of theoretical decks, and I'd rather spend the time and effort I would maintaining that on more relevant new features! I will also plan on removing all pre-existing unregistered decks at some point in the future.
Patrons with a lifetime contribution of at least $1 can now leave ratings and reviews for sellers! Sellers on the site have been remarkably honest on the whole, but hopefully this can help forestall abuse by any unscrupulous individuals, and help buyers evaluate what sellers are worth the time to communicate with.
New funding goals are headed for the DoK Patreon! I'm also revising the tier pricing and rewards. Check out my post about it on Patreon for more details, or to lock in a Patron level at the current rates! Please consider becoming a Patron or upgrading your level to support the site and help me continue maintaining and improving it!
You can now upload an image to verify ownership of a deck! This should help folks in a few ways.
1. For more valuable decks you can use this to help verify possession of the deck for potential buyers.
2. You can upload an image with enhanced Mass Mutation cards to verify location of enhancements when selling MM decks.
3. Can be used to verify ownership publicly for use in online tournaments.
If you're a patron and sell decks, head to your profile. There you can toggle on auto renewal of your decks for sale if you so desire. This will automatically relist your decks for 1 year when they expire. This will only work if you are an active Patron.
This includes the monthly SAS update, with only a few tweaks to MM. The plan is to hold off until early August before we do another update.
I've updated a number of cards slightly based win rate analysis of all current sets provided by PetitBOT, the newest member of the SAS Council. From this point forward I'm going to endeavor to release SAS changes on a more regular basis, on the 1st of every month. Extra releases will be performed when new expansions are released.
I've worked to improve the appearance and usability of the Deck Search Panel. Less commonly used features, like the House Select, are now hidden behind an expansion panel by default. The link to download a CSV of the deck search results has been moved from the deck table view to the search panel. And an improved expansion selector has been created to make it easier to quickly select expansions, and to allow selecting multiple expansions.
You can now see graphs displaying sale prices for decks by SAS! Head over to the stats area to check them out.
Emails have been restyled to be significantly less painful to the eyes.
First version of MM ratings had a fair number of mistakes. Hopefully this version has many fewer mistakes! I've also made a few updates to cards in previous sets to continue improving consistency of traits and ratings.
I've revised the for sale view to waste less space, and use scroll we needed to keep sizes reasonable.
A recent update rendered the deck list very very slow. That has now been fixed. If loading 100 decks at once, it will still be somewhat slow. The deck view is very complex with many tooltips and small pieces of information. I'll continue looking into ways to make it work as fast as possible.
I've finished mutating DoK to import MM decks! I was caught a little off guard by the timing of when this was released on Master Vault (even though I shouldn't have been) so these ratings are highly preliminary. Expect to see some errors and strange numbers until they've been fully reviewed in the coming days.
We can't currently see which cards are modified with what bonus icons, either on Master Vault's deck view, or in the API. This is a big problem for deck content verification. We need to be able to verify deck contents to prevent cheating, safely sell second hand online, and play online. Please consider signing this petition to FFG to encourage them to add this data sooner than later!
The intent with AERC categories is to create values KeyForge players will frequently look at to evaluate the quality of their decks. Over time, I've realized that House Cheating and Aember Protection didn't provide much benefit in terms of deck evaluation, and House Cheating especially caused confusion in terms of how it is different from Efficiency. Their values have been redistributed to other AERC categories where appropriate.
However, a new category is being added, Creature Protection. Certain creatures gain so much value with enough creature protection that this seems like a category that will be valuable as an evaluation and query value. Go find your Valtron: Defender of the Crucible!
You can now view card win rates on a per-set basis, as well as see how good the card is relative to average for its house + set combinations.
I've been working on fixing a lot of bugs in the system, and upgrading versions of libraries it uses. I don't normally create a release note for bug fixes, but wanted to add one here as there are quite a few, so there could be bugs with the bug fixes. Let me know if anyone experiences any issues.
This is probably what SAS v5 should've been in the first place. WC has had its scores increased slightly, especially its best cards. I've also thoroughly revised play effect synergies, protects creatures synergies, and added synergy groups so that complex cards like Edie or Cincinnatus Rex can be more properly synergized. If anyone sees any major issues let me know, but my primary goal will be to work on Mass Mutation ratings now.
We've formed a SAS Council to help expand the private conversations that happen when creating new versions of SAS to members of the community outside Team SAS-LP. Currently the council consists of me, Nathan, Big Z, Dunkoro, Luke Daniels, and Dan of Team SAS-LP, as well as Dave Cordiero and Aurore from the community at large.
I've been gradually improving the card search mechanism. You can now search by synergy traits and synergies.
SAS has undergone its next major revision! This revision is intended to improve synergy quality, and correct cards that were grossly underrated, like Martian Generosity. We've also noticed that Worlds Collide seems a little overrated in general compared to CotA and AoA, so many lower-quality WC cards have been nerfed. In terms of synergies, the biggest revisions have come to how creatures with good reap / use work, adding friendly vs. enemy effects, adding card-type specific synergies as well as adding creature power expressions so synergies can target the most appropriate creatures.
I also want to thank everyone who contributes to improving SAS and making these improvements possible! On Team SAS-LP, Dunkoro, Luke Daniels , DrSheep, and Big Z have been a great help in evaluating this new version of SAS, and I also appreciate the input and feedback from everyone who participates in the SAS-discussion channel on the discord!
I've pushed a minor update to SAS. You probably won't notice more than a 1 point SAS difference on some decks. Only 13 cards were updated.
You can now access your deck list from the public API.
I've made the CSVs for cards and decks a little more consistent. '"' should be handled properly more consistently, and all list data is separated with ' | '.
You can now include or exclude houses from your deck searches! Click it twice to exclude a house from the search results. Click it again to return it to neutral.
You can now form teams and invite other users to your team! This allows you to search for all decks belonging to anyone on your team, see a table of your teammates, and anyone to see the team of users with public deck lists on the user search. Forming a team is a $5+ a month Patreon benefit, and searching team decks is a $1+ a month benefit. Anyone can join a team.
The bottom right corner of the deck view shows the date a deck was added to DoK. This was not recorded prior to June 1st, 2019. If anyone has data for the dates decks were added to Master Vault they'd be willing to share, let me know and I'll backfill some dates!
The site now tracks sales and purchases of decks! Whenever a deck is purchased through auction, buy it now, or accepted offer, the site will automatically track it for the buyer and seller. If the seller marks a deck as sold in a standard sale the buyer can report the deck as purchased from the three vertical dots menu on a deck, and the purchase / sale records will link up as long as the sale amount is listed the same.
Anyone can see their most recent 10 sales and purchases. Seeing all historical sales and purchases is a $5 a month patron feature. Please become a patron for all the awesome (and growing) exclusive features!
You can now choose to receive offers on decks you've listed for sale. After doing so, users can send you offers through the DoK system. They will be able to see previously made offer amounts, so they know when it isn't worth sending an offer that is less than what you've already passed on. You can accept and reject offers from your offers page, under the new "My DoK" menu.
Theoretical decks have been improved so their new, shorter urls can actually be saved and shared. It's also easier to make them, and not lose your work while doing so. Additionally, you can create them with legacy cards. I've also switched these to be a $1 a month patron feature.
You can now create and view the SAS score and traits for any combination of cards. This will not save a deck that can be searched, however you can share the link.
I fixed a bug with cards that synergize with themselves having synergy for only one copy, and made the 'good creature' trait actually work.
I've updated Worlds Collide SAS / AERC Ratings based on increased experience with the set, and more data in terms of win rates per cards.
Check out the spoilers for Mass Mutation! This is a community driven project to help everyone have spoilers to see and search.
If you help add spoilers you can get kudos on the spoilers page, as well as a temporary free $5 site subscription! Join the Discord server and message CorayThan in the Spoilers channel to help out.
You can now search users of the site whose deck lists are publicly available! Users whose deck lists are private are hidden from this search.
The system will now attempt to verify your public seller's email if you list decks for sale and it is unverified.
You are now required to detail your shipping costs when listing decks for sale.
Sort by power level, search decks by anomaly count.
Also switched card displays to use icons for expansions.
Not for sale checkbox. Toggle open or closed the slew of checkboxes. (Most important ones always displayed.) "For Sale" searches everything for sale, including auctions. Don't click three checkboxes just to see what's available!
You no longer select "For Trade" on a per-listing basis. This is an account-wide setting that toggles for trade on for all decks you have listed for sale from your profile.
View deck notes easier! Select to view them from the deck search pane, edit from that page too.
I've updated AERC values for about 40 cards. This fine tunes some decks' scores, but won't have a large effect on most decks.
As an aside, I'm working on more long-running improvements to the site as a marketplace. Currently working on incorporating an offer system and purchase tracking.
When viewing "Past AERC" on the card search page you can now select specific dates! Should make it much easier to review changes to AERC.
AERC now has extra-weak traits as an option, to help properly synergize cards that synergize a small amount with many types of cards, like many Saurians.
I've now added new traits for Good Creature (for cards like Exhume), Captures onto Target for targetted aember capture(for cards like The Callipygian Ideal), and Moves Friendly (for positioning-relevant creatures).
The biggest difference is that many Saurian sets have dropped a point or two, and some of their more extreme yet misleading Aember control numbers have been toned down. I've also changed the AERC for most house leaders, and made many other minor changes. Take a look in the link below!
You can now hover (click on mobile) a deck's house name to see the SAS contribution from that house, as well as each card's.
Tooltips on decks should look nicer and be easier to open on mobile. Update: long press for 1 second.
Deck importing now runs separately from the auto import, to help prevent Master Vault from blocking decks getting imported so often. Hopefully the release of set 4 can go a little smoother with decks being fully imported earlier.
Various minor improvements to AERC, including fixes to mistakes, and changeds based on impressions from the Indianapolis VT. Also, I had a lot of fun at the vault tour! Great getting to meet new people and the new set.
I'm working on improving the synergy system. To that end, cards can now easily synergize directly with other cards. I've added direct synergies for cards like:
If you are logged in, you can now manually refresh power level / chains / wins from Master Vault. Just use the three dots button on the deck view.
There were many cards in Saurians that were causing cards in that house to be overrated. The Spends Captured Aember trait has been removed to combat this. Cards that used to have that trait should synergize based on exalt / capture themselves to represent a more realistic value. Additionally, multiple Saurian cards were overrated in the first place, like Exile (could go up to 6.5 total value), Tribute (4), Crassosaurus (3.8), and others. Further improvements will be made when I add card-to-card synergies and some more deck / house traits.
Card searches are now bookmarkable and shareable. Also, the deck or card search will go to the card search page by default if there are card results. I hope to further improve this page's search capabilities in the future.
If you hit enter it will now take you to the card search page if there are any matching card results. Otherwise it will take you to the deck search page.
This was turned off for the Worlds Collide release. It is now turned back on.
Worlds Collide decks now have SAS ratings. This is just the first version. Saurians especially are a difficult house to rate in the current system, and I expect these initial ratings to improve over the coming weeks and months.
I've added new graphs to help visualize AERC stats for cards by set and house.
Worlds Collide decks can now be added to Decks of KeyForge, although due to rate limiting I expect them to be added very slowly by the automatic function. You can try importing them yourself, but that will probably be slow too. SAS scores are being worked on as quickly as possible.
SAStars now includes a percent. This represents the deck's current percentile ranking among all decks that exist. Unlike SAS, this could change just by virtue of more better or worse decks coming into existence. For example, if a generally higher or lower powered set were released. This also makes it a lot easier to see things like the fact that 62 is the current Average SAS value, as decks with that score are better than 52% of decks.
Most rounding is now out to 2 significant digits, making it more clear what the AERC / SAS numbers really are. You can see unrounded AERC values for the deck on the hover tooltip.
I've added a new all-decks CSV for SAS v4. Find it on the About APIs page.
I've received a lot of feedback in the last few days, and wanted to act on it as quickly as possible. This release includes many fixes and improvements to the synergies of cards. Arise is no longer super overrated. Wild Wormhole is less underrated. Many cards have had their synergies fixed, like Key Abuduction, John Smyth, and others. You can see all the changes using the history toggle on the cards page. The previous versions are now dated so you can recognize when an update was released.
A bug snuck in late in the development process of SAS v4 and caused many decks to be off by a couple points from their proper total SAS. Some decks were off by many points. Any cards with only synergies and no antisynergies were gaining extra points in the total SAS score, and any cards with only antisynergies were losing points. Fixing this problem has led to a much tighter (and more realistic) band of possible scores. From 38 to 93, with an average of 62. I also fixed an issue where some cards were synergizing out of house when they shouldn't have, like Shooler synergizing with Key Abduction's bounce effect.
In its first release a few days ago, SAS v4 was equivalent to SAS v3 in terms of correlation with win rates. This update improves upon that thanks to the synergy improvements and bug fixes. At approximately 50 and 75 SAS this version is about 1.5% more strongly correlated than the previous version.
Multiple fixes to this table. Sorting works now. Out of house synergies show the cards they synergize with. Table is more medium-screen size friendly.
The biggest revision to SAS ever is now complete. AERC traits now have synergies, and those synergies / antisynergies + the raw AERC score = the new SAS. This means all decks have had their scores shifted significantly. Scores are lower across the board, usually in the range of 5 to 20 points lower. 63 is now the average SAS rating.
This change was made made to improve AERC and SAS. AERC and SAS are both strong rating systems, but rating deck quality based on Aember equivalent value provides a consistent basis for rating decks across sets, and makes it easier to rate cards more accurately. Adding synergies to AERC stats makes AERC stats a much more realistic evaluation of the traits of a deck. And changing the Synergy and Antisynergy system to have a dynamic range per card, instead of the set -2 to 2 range as it previously did, improves the accuracy and flexibility of the system. The SAS + AERC page has been revised based on these changes. Please review that for more details about how the new system works!
It will take multiple hours or days for all the decks to finish updating for the new ratings. During that time all decks will show their new ratings, but search results will be inconsistent (some decks will use their old ratings in searches until done updating).
On hover / click of cards in a deck list you can see the AERC range of the card, as well as the specific rating for that card in that deck. Also, in the Deck Page Synergy Details table you can see what percent synergy each card's synergies has, and on hover you can see what cards each synergy is synergizing with.
Starting now, you can also view past AERC values on the cards page. Just click the toggle at the bottom and you will see previous and current AERC ratings for the card.
I'm working on the Step 4 of the big SAS update, but there is a bug with some decks recently added and their effective power. Their effective power and total AERC will be lower than they should be until I can finish Step 4 and update AERC in general, hopefully later this weekend or early next week.
I teamed up with some folks in the Sanctumonius Discord to provide Worlds Collide spoilers on DoK! They were very generous in providing a data set to build the spoilers from. Join their discord to discuss the new spoilers, and take a look at them here!
I had multiple users concerned about the crucible tracker wins being displayed by default. Due to these concerns, I've made this an opt-in feature. Please enable it in your profile if you would like to see these stats.
You can now see the wins and losses for decks from results recorded with Crucible Tracker! Click the icon to go to the deck page on Crucible Tracker.
App bar now shows decks and my decks for smaller resolution desktops.
Major update to AERC card scores! I've gone through and trued AERC scores against SAS card ratings to improve AERC scores. I've also made AERC scores more internally consistent, for example fight effects are rated the same for similar power creatures. This completes step 3 of the 4 step SAS revision plan.
Save defaults when listing decks for sale! No more re-entering the same thing to list 10 similar decks.
Message while SAS / AERC are updating. Now you know when things are in flux.
Hover for card totals shows names of cards that match the type.
Make sure to check out the toggle buttons on the bottom of the deck search drawer! I added a new graph one to see some graphs on the deck search screen!
Big changes to AERC! Multiple new Aerc stats, including Aember Protection (cards like Vault Keeper and key cheats), House Cheating (Dominator Bauble), and Other (things that don't fit elsewhere). Also split Deck Manipulation into Efficiency (can play more cards) and Disruption (stop your opponent from playing more cards).
Along with those changes come handy new icons and AERC displays. I've added references to the AERC letters in many places, because I don't want that lingo to go away, but for the primary deck display I want some easy to recognize icons.
Also added some radar graphs to show the percentile rankings of a deck's traits and card types!
Added Raw Aember as a deck search constraint. Had been getting a lot of requests for this one. Each constraint adds technical overhead, but this seemed worth it.
Improved the stats page. The graphs exclude data with very small counts, and display quantity of data available.
Download deck lists as a spreadsheet file! Switch to the table view (toggle button at the bottom of the search bar) and click the download button.
Deck table view now has a three dots button to perform most of the normal actions for a deck directly from the table.
Added Master Vault link to the more options button for decks.
Added rate limiting for the deck request API. Some users were misusing this resource. Please use the CSV if you need all SAS / AERC ratings.
If you are the high bidder on an auction and someone else buys the auction with buy it now, you will receive an email.
Minor improvement to SAS / AERC. These are some lingering changes to the current system I wanted to get out before I start working on the big update.
Fixed problems like Shadow of Dis having Aember Control instead of Expected Aember.
Increased rating for a few cards, like Mother, Succubus, Shatter Storm, Rock Hurling Giant, Door Step to Heaven, Tyxl Beambuckler, Nyzyk Resonator, Martyr's End, and Persistence Hunting.
Reduced rating for a few cards, like Into the Fray, Grumpus Tamer, Bloodshard Imp, Gold Key Imp, Memory Chip, AEmber Conduction Unit, Nightforge, Guard Disguise, and Scowly Caper.
Improved constraints + cards search. It should be more clear how to add more, and possible to remove lines without resetting the whole search.
A few minor bug fixes, like to the tooltips for stars.
Introducing SAStars! These stars are a quick way to know the percentile ranking of a deck by SAS. Check out the new About page section for more info on what they mean. (Scroll down for the SAStars section.)
And some special preview news! I've begun the process of the biggest revision to SAS since its release. Plan is to have this complete before the release of Set 3.
In short, I'm planning on adding more traits to AERC (Aember Protection, splitting Deck Manipulation into Efficiency and Disruption , House Cheating, Other), adding synergies and antisynergies to improve AERC values, and then replacing the SAS card ratings with total AERC score of cards.
If you want to read the in-depth road map, take a look at the google doc:
Send me a message on Discord to provide feedback and comments!
The top search tool is a lot cooler now! Displays relevant info about the decks. It will also search for cards and displays info about them, and let you click to see the full page for the card.
Also wanted to mention the Gen Con Vault Tour was awesome! Was exciting getting to see the upcoming set previewed, and everyone I met and played against was friendly and cool. I wish I could've made one of the day 2s, but my losses were against great decks and players, so nothing to complain about!
Improved cards page. The cards page now loads much faster, loads more cards on scroll, and you can link to individual pages for cards.
Add notes to any deck, and use your notes as custom tags to share collections of decks with a link! You can search for decks with note text you've added, and share those search result URLs with others.
Deck action buttons have been improved. Less used actions (view cards, add note) are in a three vertical dots menu, and in mobile most deck actions will appear there for a simpler, shorter mobile view.
Updated SAS. Added some new traits, like Deploy and an Out of House synergy type. (Synergizes with traits from cards in other houses only. Also fixed some issues, like the Thief trait not working.
You can now search for a number of copies of any cards. For example, you could search for decks with 1 of Key Charge, Chota Hazri, or Key Abduction.
Added a search field to the top bar. Should help for quick deck name searches!
Updated description and terms for auction bidding and listing. Sniping is actively discouraged, and if server slowness or instability significantly affects the ability of users to bid on an auction, sellers are allowed to relist that auction with a description explaining why.
Fixed bugs with card sorting for AoA.
More info on mobile deck view.
Email verification will now be required for listing decks for sale, and soon for other activities.
Fixed win / loss / power level / chain updater. It now runs every 3 days, and takes more than a day to complete.
I had a great time at the Origins Vault Tour! Opened one good deck with a super cool maverick and made top 16.
Articles have been removed.
Also was great getting to meet many people who use SAS and the site, as well as Brad Andres! Brad was telling someone that if anyone, tells them they can tell them how good their deck is, they're lying. So a friend (thanks Erich) immediately introduced me, "Speaking of which, I wanted to introduce you to Nathan. He makes Decks of KeyForge and SAS!" So I said, "Hi, I've lied to KeyForge players hundreds of thousands of times." Was a pretty funny introduction!
Moved Expansion selector down to above search bar to improve spacing on deck search.
Added a sellers view to make it more convenient for sellers to use the table view to update prices and unlist decks.
When listing an auction you can now select the time it will end.
Improved stability by improving the deck statistics update function.
Refined card ratings and synergies for AoA.
Improved deck importer to better keep up with quantity of decks.
Cards sorted in a CotA style for AoA decks.
In the process of adding separate stats for expansions.
Improved deck importer to better keep up with quantity of decks.
I haven't made changes yet, but I'll be updating and improving SAS ratings for AOA as I get more familiar with the set. While I do think AOA is weaker in general than COTA, and will have generally lower scores, I think it's being a bit underrated by SAS at this time.
Age of Ascension traits, synergies, and antisynergies have been added! There are still some new synergies in AoA that are not yet represented, like an automatic anti-synergy for multiple copies of the Alpha keyword in the same house.
Revised Bait and Switch as well as Library Access. Despite it being unfortunate that they needed to do it, I'm personally excited about the wider array of decks now viable in top-level competitions.
A long time ago I added C (Creature Control) rating to high power creatures. I was supposed to remove that when I added Effective Power, but instead those C ratings were incompletely removed. They are now completely removed, so cards like Shooler don't have a C rating.
Legacy symbols now show up next to decks with legacy cards.
Fixed an issue with notifications not being sent for newly listed auctions.
Age of Ascension decks are now importing into Decks of KeyForge! Note that these decks have SAS ratings, but those should be taken with a huge grain of salt. I haven't had time to add traits, synergies or antisynergies yet, so Age of Ascension decks will also have lower scores than they should.
Search for cards as mavericks in a specific house! Just use the "Copies" drop down and select the house you want.
New article previewing SAS ratings for many of the known cards coming out in Age of Ascension!
Added expansion selectors. The one for cards will show you the COTA cards included in AOA!
Can add filter on number of chains.
Temporarily removing house select and recently listed sort to try to improve recent performance issues. Also converted the total deck count to be an estimate that is much faster to calculate, but also isn't necessarily exactly how many decks exist.
AERC now has tool tips that tell you what cards contributed to each score.
You will receive an email notification when outbid on an auction.
Added a button to go to a random registered deck.
Updates to SAS and AERC! Please note the stats will be out of date temporarily. This will be the last big change before Age of Ascension.
Also, the system for how AERC estimates artifact control has been adjusted. Now hard artifact removal like Sneklifter, or Neutron Shark provides 1.5 R, artifact use (removing one-use artifacts) like Remote Access or Nexus provides 1 R, and artifact delay like Barehanded or Grasping Vines provides 0.5 R.
You can now view only your decks that are not for sale via the top menu.
I've also begun the under-the-hoods preparations for the release of Age of Ascension.
New deck view with more info! You can use the expand less button to return to the old view.
Table view now has a ton of new columns. You can see a smaller table view using the top right button.
Fixed an issue causing new patreon subscribers to not gain their benefits.
Auctions added as a selling and buying option!
Choose a currency symbol on your profile so you can sell your decks with € or any other currency.
Select a deck language when selling a deck to help users know what language your deck is in. This defaults to English, so be sure to set it to another language if needed.
Real Patron rewards! First one is pretty sweet. Become a $5 a month patron to save deck searches, and get email notifications when new decks are listed for sale or trade that match your search.
If you're a seller, you can become a $10 a month patron to have your "Store" link be featured on the landing page with a custom store name and picture. (Please email me a 48px height image to get a custom image.)
Speaking of which, there's a new landing page! You won't need to wait to see the same top SAS decks you've seen a 100 times before anymore. It also provides some suggested deck searches, featured sellers, articles, and a couple graphs.
I've added a new public API for getting the stats used to build the charts and graphs on this site.
Created an articles section with two new articles by Dunkoro and Big Z! If you're interested in contributing articles send me a short summary of your idea and an example paragraph. But keep in mind I'm going to be selective about what articles are added to the site.
Synergy Details table now includes all cards, AERC scores, and is sortable in desktop mode.
Deck name search now ignores punctuation.
Added two new AERC traits, deck manipulation and effective creature power. Read more about them on the SAS and AERC about page!
Added those two new traits to the total AERC score. This causes a major change to those scores.
Minor update to SAS based on latest card win rates. No card was changed by more than 0.5 card rating.
You can now search by card quantity "none" to exclude cards you don't want.
Added new "filter on" options to deck search. You can now filter on deck manipulation, effective creature power, as well as card type quantity.
Europeans rejoice! You can now select "Buying Countries" in your profile. When you search decks for sale, these will be used instead of your home country for searching.
Fixed a bug that could prevent users from removing a deck from their decks.
Added an "Import to my decks" option to the import deck popover.
You can set page size when searching decks to be 100. Look at the bottom of the deck search drawer!
When searching decks for sale you can set a "Listed Within Days" limit to see only more recently listed decks.
Updated AERC stats to give credit in the C category to creatures with high power. 5-6 power provides 0.5 C, while 7+ is typically 7+. Also made minor improvements to other AERC stats of cards.
Added a total AERC score, along with sorting and constraining by that.
TLDR; Updated SAS and added win rates for cards on the cards page.
This is a major revision to SAS ratings. I've used win rates of cards from the official API to inform my card ratings for SAS. I have followed the win rates for commons more close than uncommons or rares due to the larger amount of data.
I've also added new tiers to the card ratings, which include 0.5, 1.5, 2.5 and 3.5 for more precision in rating.
These changes have changed the scale of SAS somewhat. 75 is still pretty close to average, but the scale has widened. There are now 105 SAS decks (rather than 102) and 39 SAS decks (rather than 45).
Also, you can see the win ratings for cards on the Cards page, and sort by win rating. The ratings are pretty interesting, but need to be taken with a huge grain of salt. First, they are highly correlated with house win rates. Shadows wins the most, so all its cards rate high, and Mars wins the least, so all its rate low. I've used the range of ratings intra-house more than I've compared across houses.
Added a global stats page.
More graphs for the deck page. Click the expansion button to see them!
Site notifies you of new releases.
Improved Patreon page.
Cards view for deck that shows all the cards.
Sellers and traders can now update the listing for their decks.
Added an asking price deck search filter if "For Sale" is selected.
Page titles now change with the pages.
Created an API for stores or technically saavy sellers to list and unlist decks.
Updated the About page. Still as meta as the first time!
Improved card search! Faster, and you can search up to 5 different cards.

You can send an email to sellers and traders if you are logged in and they have not listed an external link for the deck.
You can now select a country for yourself and filter decks for sale or trade by the country they are listed in. Note that as of this release, no decks have a country selected, but all future decks listed for sale or trade will.
Added power level, chains, wins, and losses to decks, and sorting by chains.
You can now add unregistered decks to discover their SAS and list them for sale! Just login and go to Import Deck, then use the link.
By default unregistered decks are filtered out of searches.
Traits are colored teal to differentiate from synergies.
Improved the simple deck API to v2, see below.
Added a
Privacy PolicyYou can now view decks in a table view with column sorting.
Added password reset.
Created a Patreon page with some donation options to help support the site!
Updated SAS Ratings.
The ratings of card + card synergies has been reduced in many instances. People felt that the system was over weighting the increased value of how cards work together when often they don't both appear in the same game, or at the wrong time.
Increased ratings of cards that increase expected aember, aember control, and creatures that help develop board control.
Added an "Expected Aember" deck trait synergy and synergies with it.
Added synergies, antisynergies, and changed card ratings based on community feedback.
You can view the ratings as spreadsheets on google docs. (Although I recommend toggling on full view on the Cards page for the current version.)
Added expiration date for deck listings.
New graphs on deck page to show deck scores relative to global averages.
Added SAS and Cards Rating options to the deck search filters.
Fix for vague error on registration page.
Added "My Favorites" to deck search options. Changed "Wishlist" to favorites, but it can be used for either.
Added card popovers with expanded details to Synergy Details.
Improved release notes. Whoa so meta!
Fixed some bugs, like when the site is linked to from Facebook.
Fixed problem with user registration.
I've temporarily disabled searching for more than one card in the deck search. It was possible to create long-running searches that had the potential to bring down the database.
Fixed a bug where average artifact control and creature control were showing average artifact count and creature count.
